Frequently Asked Questions
How does this work without uploading my photos?
JustConvertRAW runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your RAW files are processed locally on your device and never leave your computer.
What RAW formats are supported?
We support CR2, CR3, NEF, NRW, ARW, SRF, SR2, DNG, RAF, ORF, RW2, PEF, SRW, ERF, KDC, DCR, MOS, 3FR, IIQ, RWL, MEF, MRW, and X3F — covering Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Samsung, and more than 1200 camera models.
Can I adjust white balance and other settings?
Yes. You can choose between camera white balance and auto white balance, adjust brightness, select different demosaic algorithms (AHD, VNG, PPG, etc.), change color space, enable noise reduction, and use half-size mode for faster processing.
Is there a file size limit?
The tool handles files up to 200 MB. RAW files are typically 20-60 MB depending on your camera. Since everything runs in your browser, processing speed depends on your device.
What is the difference between JPEG and PNG output?
JPEG uses lossy compression with adjustable quality (smaller files, slight quality loss). PNG uses lossless compression (larger files, no quality loss). For photos, JPEG at 90-95% quality is usually the best balance of quality and file size.
