What Is the RAF Format?

RAF (RAW Format) is Fujifilm's proprietary RAW image format. RAF files contain unprocessed sensor data from Fujifilm's unique X-Trans CMOS sensors, which use a distinctive 6x6 color filter array instead of the traditional Bayer pattern. This sensor design reduces moire artifacts without requiring an optical low-pass filter, resulting in sharper images. RAF files preserve the full 14-bit color depth and dynamic range of the sensor.
